Remedies Or Corrections
Most common problem after
refilling the No. 10 or No. 11 black or color
ink tanks is the printer ink monitor not
reading a full cartridge. If this is the
problem you are having it is because the
black, rubber piece located on the tank must
be hard in order to apply enough to be sensed
as a new or full cartridge. This is done
by pressurizing the cartridge, which is not
the easiest thing to do once you have refilled
it. The easiest solution for this
problem is to take a small, thin piece of
cardboard, fold it in half, and tape it across
the rubber piece on the cartridge.
Install the cartridge back into the printer
and it should read as a full, ready to print
cartridge. If you cartridge has
a leak problem or is not printing at
all, it may be necessary
to clean the print head if your HP No. 10 or
No. 11 black or color printer ink cartridge
printhead (NOT the tank the you refilled, but
what the tank sits inside when it is in the
printer) is not printing as
desired. This can be done by pouring hot distilled water into a cup or dish approximately
1/4" deep - It is important NOT to get any water into the
HP printer ink cartridge itself. Place the "Print-Head" (Bottom
portion of the ink No. 10 Series HP ink cartridge where the ink exits the ink
cartridge) in the HOT distilled water and let soak for 1 minute. You will
see the water solution start to cloud as the
respective ink is heated and
released from the HP No. 10 or No. 11 ink cartridge. Insert the tank back into
the printhead (cartridge). You will then need to place a dry paper towel in the palm
of your hand as if you were wadding it
up. Place the printhead of the
ink cartridge into the paper towel and hold it there for a few
seconds. Then remove it. You should see a narrow line
of whichever color cartridge you are working
with where the print head
was blotted on the paper towel, you may need to repeat this step 15-20
times. After you see a solid line your
HP No. 10 or No. 11 printer ink cartridge should be
ready to install into your printer. After you have soaked and
blot tested and your
HP No. 10 or No. 11 printer ink
cartridge is still not producing the proper test results on the printer ink
cartridge blot test, ensure that you filled the
printer ink tank with the correct number of CC's as shown on your
directions. Each ink
cartridge MUST have the precise amount of ink injected into the printer ink
cartridge when refilling in order for the pressure of the ink cartridge to
balance out. It may be necessary
to remove the ink already injected by using your
needle and syringe to draw the ink
back out of the HP No. 10 or No. 11 ink cartridge and re-inject the proper amount of ink into
the cartridge again. If you have tried all of
the above and you still are not getting
your ink cartridge to work, the next possible cause would be to assume the
printer ink cartridge or HP print head is burnt up. This can happen on certain
printer ink cartridges that have the print head built onto the ink storage
tank. If this is the case there is no way to fix the ink cartridge.
It
must be replaced with a new HP No. 10 or No.
11 black or color printer ink cartridge. If you have tried everything suggested on this page and
can still not get your printer ink cartridge going, Feel free to call our
technical support line for assistance at 254-399-9736, But make sure that
you have completed all the steps above because they will be the first things
are technicians ask you to do.
IMPORTANT NOTES TO REMEMBER ABOUT
REFILLING YOUR PRINTER INK CARTRIDGE
-
Since most all ink
cartridges either have a sponge or tank to
store ink, it is important to refill your ink
cartridge either before it runs out of ink or
as soon as possible after it begins to streak
or the printer gives you a LOW ink alarm. Inks
are designed to dry quickly to prevent
bleeding or smearing on your printouts, since
this ink dries so quickly if you run out of
ink and do not refill as soon as possible, the
ink in the print head will dry and clog the
print head holes with are smaller than the
diameter of a human hair. There may be as many
as 100 holes on each print head, any of which
can become clogged up causing poor print
quality.
-
If you do not have an ink
refilling kit handy when you first run out of
ink, place your empty printer ink cartridge
back in the original print head cap and place
the ink cartridge into a plastic zip lock
baggie. Remove as much of the air in the
baggie as possible and seal the bag.
-
When completing steps 1-3
above it is important to follow the directions
exactly as soon to ensure original print
quality on your printed documents. Each
printer ink cartridge refills with different
techniques and each printer ink cartridge uses
different ink formulas and color pigments,
Never use ink that was designed for a
different printer for any other printer other
than the one the kit was designed for or you
may damage the ink cartridge or contaminate
the ink cartridge.
-
Since you are dealing with
ink it is important to be careful and take
your time when refilling your printer ink
cartridges, You may have a drip from time to
time when learning how to refill your ink
cartridge, So be prepared. Use a clean work
area like a kitchen sink and place news papers
or paper towels on your work surface while
refilling your printer ink cartridge. If a
spill does occur or you get ink on you, Most
inks are water soluble and can be cleaned with
water before they dry, Resolve carpet cleaner
will remove ink from carpets or other fabrics.
And Finger nail polish remover will remove the
ink from other hard surfaces such as tile or
countertops. The best method is prevention.
-
With the cost of printer
ink cartridges today everyone is beginning to
understand how cost effective ink refilling
can be, You can literally save hundreds of
dollars a year by refilling your own printer
ink cartridges so taking a little time will
pay you back in a tremendous money savings,
And after you do it the first time the next
time will be easy. It just takes patience and
practice.
-
Since you are RECYCLING

it in the trash you are also helping to save

landfills. The more you can recycle the more
we benefit and protect our own future.
