Remedies Or Corrections

After following all instructions that were provided with your Mr. Ink Jet printer ink refill kit as instructed, it may be necessary to clean the print head if your hewlett packard printer ink cartridge is not printing as desired or not printing all three colors Photo Cyan Photo Magenta Photo Black . This can be done by pouring hot distilled water into a cup or dish approximately 1/4" deep, It is important NOT to get any water into the hewlett packard printer ink cartridge itself. Place the "Print-Head" (Bottom portion of the ink C1816 photo hewlett packard ink cartridge where the ink exits the ink cartridge) in the HOT distilled water and let soak for 1 minute. You will see the water solution start to cloud as the Photo Cyan Photo Magenta Photo Black or combination of any ink is heated and released from the apple C1816 photo ink cartridge.

You will then need to place a dry paper towel in the palm of your hand as if you were wadding it up. Then place the printhead of the ink cartridge into the paper towel and hold it there for a few seconds. Remove the paper towel from the cartridge. You should see three narrow  lines (one cyan, one magenta, one yellow),  where the print head was blotted on the paper towel. You may need to repeat this step 15-20 times.  After you see three solid lines,  your hewlett packard C1816 photo printer ink cartridge should be ready to install into your printer and be ready to print.

After you have completed step 2 and your apple C1816 photo printer ink cartridge is still not producing the proper test results on the printer ink cartridge blot test you will need to ensure that the cartridge is completely filled. Make sure that you filled the hewlett packard C1816 photo printer ink cartridge with the correct number of CC's for each color as shown on your directions. Each ink cartridge MUST have the precise amount of ink injected into the printer ink cartridge when refilling in order for the pressure of the ink cartridge to balance out or the ink sponge to be saturated properly. It may be necessary to remove the ink already injected by using your syringe to draw the ink back out of the hewlett packard C1816 photo ink cartridge and re-inject the proper amount of ink into the cartridge again.

After completing steps 1-3 and you still are not getting your ink cartridge to work, the next possible cause would be to assume the printer ink cartridge or canon print head is burnt up. This can happen on certain printer ink cartridges that has the print head built onto the ink storage tank. If this is the case there is no way to fix the ink cartridge. And it must be replaced with a new hewlett packard C1816 photo printer ink cartridge.

If you have tried everything suggested on this page and can still not get your printer ink cartridge going, feel free to call our technical support line for assistance at 254-399-9736.  Make sure that you have completed all the steps above because they will be the first things are technicians ask you to do.  Please have all the necessary information ready for the technicians. This includes your printer model, cartridge number, and the details of what the process taken to refill the cartridge.

IMPORTANT NOTES TO REMEMBER ABOUT REFILLING YOUR PRINTER INK CARTRIDGE

  • Since most ink cartridges either have a sponge or tank to store ink, it is important to refill your ink cartridge either before it runs out of ink or as soon as possible after it begins to streak or the printer gives you a LOW ink alarm. Inks are designed to dry quickly to prevent bleeding or smearing on your printouts.  Since this ink dries so quickly if you run out of ink and do not refill as soon as possible the ink in the print head will dry and clog the print head holes with are smaller than the diameter of a human hair and there may be as many as 100 holes on each print head any of which can become clogged up causing poor print quality.

  • If you do not have an ink refilling kit handy when you first run out of ink, place your empty printer ink cartridge back in the original print head cap and place the ink cartridge into a plastic zip lock baggie. Remove as much of the air in the baggie as possible and seal the bag.

  • When completing steps 1-3 above it is important to follow the directions exactly as soon to ensure original print quality on your printed documents. Each printer ink cartridge refills with different techniques and each printer ink cartridge uses different ink formulas and color pigments. You should not cross-refill any cartridges.  The inks contained in your refill kit are specifically manufactured to be used with the printer models and cartridges listed on the instructions included in your Mr. Ink Jet, Inc. refill kit.

  • Since you are dealing with ink it is important to be careful and take your time when refilling your printer ink cartridges.  You may have a drip from time to time when learning how to refill your ink cartridge, so be prepared. Use a clean work area, like a kitchen sink, and place news papers or paper towels on your work surface while refilling your printer ink cartridge. Most inks are water soluble and can easily be washed off before it completely dries.  If you happen to get any ink on the carpet, Resolve carpet cleaner will usually help remove the ink.   Finger nail polish remover (containing Acetone) will remove the ink from other hard surfaces such as tile or countertops.  Do a spot test on the surface before using either product to ensure it will not cause damage.  The best method is prevention.

  • With the cost of printer ink cartridges today everyone is beginning to understand how cost effective ink refilling can be. You can literally save hundreds of dollars a year by refilling your own printer ink cartridges so taking a little time will pay you back in a tremendous money savings.  As in anything, the first time may be a little tricky.  The more you refill, the easier the process becomes, it just takes patience and practice.

  • Since you are RECYCLING your printer ink cartridge instead of throwing it in the trash you are also helping to save our earth by less waste ending up in our landfills. The more you can recycle the more we benefit and protect our own future.

  • Our products - All of our products and ink formulas meet or exceed original specifications for your printer ink cartridge and are NOT universal inks. These ink formulas are designed specifically for your printer and are designed for high quality.
